Certification Introduction
About Certification
1. Object for Certification Company of Producing KS standard products that KS standards and audit standards have been established.
2. Certification Application
  • Application Period: Any time during the year
  • Documents required for application: Business license, factory registration certificate, manufacturing equipment list, inspection facility list, main materials management(components, modules, materials, etc.) list, copy of ISO 9001 certificate (if applicable), internal examination result (if applicable), result of nonconformity corrective action(if applicable)
3. Audit Process

① Factory Audit: Consists of two examiners from the certification institution, is executed by the factory audit item standards, and will be eligible for product audit certificate after passing the factory audit without any incongruity.

A. Quality Management Five items (one core quality)
B. Material Management Six items (one core quality)
C. Process · Manufacturing Facility Management Eight items (one core quality)

E. Test · Examination Facility Management Three items (one core quality)
F. Consumer Protection and Environment · Resource Management Five items (one core quality)

② Product Test: Executes product examination through product test (qualified testing agency) based on the KS standard on the subjected item from the company that passed the factory audit.

4. Audit Fee
  • Application Fee: 500,000 KRW per one item(additional 250,000 KRW per 1 item)
  • Factory Audit Fee: 330,000 KRW per one examiner/1day + travel expenses
* In case of new audit - 1item: 2days, 2~3items: 2days, more than 4items: 3days
5. Processing Period Within 40 days after applying for certification(excluding holidays and product test period)
6. Certification Institution KSA, KTR, KCL, KTC, KILT, etc
7. Expiration Date There is no set expiration date but the certificate will be maintained if regular audit is executed every three years based on the initial year of acquiring the certificate.
Certificate Benefit

Able to use the KS certification mark on the product and promote the fact that the company has been certified.

Preferential purchasing system for KS certified products (Industrial Standardization Act Article 25)

Exemption of examination or formal approval, etc. (Industrial Standardization Act Article 26)

Special bid contracts (Regulations related to the contract with the State as a party Article 23)
